My office

So after a month and 1/2 of being here I am finally decorating my office space.

This little paper mache' antelope head sits between my two windows on the wall. I bought it as sort of a joke since all the engineers (my dept) and the geologist have dead deer, and other animals mounted on the wall. I obviously will not be killing any animals to hang on my wall but I figured a little paper could die. :)

These are two paintings that I painted at our local art studio with one of my ivy plants.

Last but not least I hung my diploma and set out some pics over/on the bookshelf.

That's all I have done so far, I am in no rush, looking for the perfect pieces.  I still have two rather large walls to update so Ill keep you posted as I go along!

Wedding Card Canvas

As soon as I saw this from domesticateddiva I knew I needed to make one for my wedding wall (which is in progress). Here are all the cards laid out. Using my 2: hole punch I punched out part of the cards I like and mod podged them on to two canvases.

TADA! Super easy and they will look great when I get the wall done!

A day in the life...

This morning:

Me: Honey I am having a fat day, but I know one thing, these pants make my butt look fabulous.

Husband: *cue laughing* yes, yes they do.

Quick Update

The first week of my new job has been wonderful, I feel as if I fit in perfectly and hit the ground running since I already have knowledge about the oil and gas business, and by knowledge I mean almost 6 years of experience! :)
I have been super busy at work so no crafting happening at the house, but we did get our new wine rack installed yesterday. It covers up a blank spot in the wall were we took some low hanging kitchen cabinets down. FYI those cabinets came down over three years ago! haha. We ere in no rush though. We wanted to find something perfect, and never did so we had a carpenter friend build us one from scratch.

Much needed

I took some time off between jobs, 10 days to be exact, and its been a whirlwind of awesomeness.

 I have taken 10 days off in the past for the honeymoon, a trip to Steamboat in college but I have never had 10 days to be home, a staycation. It was wonderful. Mostly I shopped. At the old job the dress code was super relaxed we wore jeans most of the time, well the new job requires new clothes since we only wear jeans on Fridays. I am completely shopped out, but I did end up with 11 new pairs of pants and 13 new tops. That should cover me until I feel the urge to hit up the stores again.
I also cooked a few dinners (okay only 2 but they were from scratch!)
Attended one funeral, bummer I know. It was for wonderful husband's ex-wife's mother. Did you follow?
She was always super nice to me and always accepting of our relationship and always greeted me with a hug and a smile.

I start the new job today, so wish me luck.


PS there is so much I want to blog about but we have this over sized keyboard on our desktop and it is so hard for my tiny hands to type on!
So I am sorry for the lack of  posts during my time off but I hope to catch you up soon!
